Annual Fiber Education Festival

The 5th Annual Fiber Education Festival, sponsored by R&M Yarns, and hosted by the Scenic Valley Handweavers Guild will be held Saturday, April 25th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be fiber animals, demonstrations on what to do with the fiber once it comes off the animal, such as:  carding, spinning, weaving, dyeing, felting, crochet and knitting.  Some vendors will have fiber, fleece, yarn and/or textiles for sale.

There is also a Kids' area where there will be several hands-on activities to introduce kids of all ages to fiber, including: dyeing with non-toxic dyes, wet-felting wool and weaving a small item.

Inside the R&M Yarns Studio will be a dyeing demonstration as well as a circular sock knitting machine demonstration.

The R&M Yarns Store will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. only for this event.

THERE ARE PREDICTIONS OF STORMS SATURDAY MORNING, but they should be gone by around 10 a.m.  We we are still holding the event.  There is a GIANT red & white tent erected to keep everyone dry.

So plan on coming out and spending a few hours with us.  Bring the kids and grab a hot dog, drink and possibly an icee from the vendor.
