Our regular Guild meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Birchwood Community Center (old elementary school), 5623 TN-60, Birchwood, TN 37308.
Shibori Workshop participants will be dipping their pulled & tied Shibori-woven cotton scarves into the Indigo dye pot prepared by Guild member Steve P. following our regular Guild meeting.
Anyone interested in joining an active weaving group is encouraged to join us at 9:00 a.m. All levels of weaving experience are represented by the Guild.
Workshop participants: Make sure you pull & tie your finished cotton scarves and put them in a bowl of water to soak Friday night. Saturday morning, squeeze the water out and bring the scarf in a ziplock bag.

Saturday, Sept. 9th SHIBORI WORKSHOP
Our next gathering will be for those that are participating in the Shibori Workshop taught by Donna Barker on Saturday, September 9th, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. We currently have 10 signed up. If you would like to take this workshop, please contact Donna to see if there is still time to prepare.
If you are a new weaver and want to "sit in and watch," you are more than welcome to come and hang out at the workshop.
All of the details about the Workshop are listed under the "Events" tab at the top of this Blog.
It's going to be fun....I can't wait!

August Guild Meeting
August 19th will be our next Guild meeting to begin at 9:00 a.m. with shopping, coffee, etc. The business meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m.
In place of a planned program, we will have a "SWAP & SHOP" event at this meeting. So bring any and all yarns, weaving equipment, etc. that you no longer need or want to see if someone else needs them. Have your items priced prior to the meeting!
Check under "Events" for the specifics about the upcoming Shibori Workshop by Donna. Everyone wishing to take this workshop needs to try and attend the August 19th meeting where you will receive your pre-wound warp along with instructions for warping your loom. All looms MUST be warped BEFORE the first meeting on September 9th.
If you cannot make the meeting, some warps will be left at the R&M Yarns Studio for pick up. Let Donna know if you are wanting to be included in this workshop and need to make other arrangements to get your warp.

June Guild Meeting
Attention all Guild members!
Reminder: THERE WILL NOT BE A MEETING THIS SATURDAY, JUNE 17TH!
Instead we will be attending a "Weave In" at the Chattanooga Library the following Saturday, June 24th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.!
Location: Chattanooga Public Library (downtown) at 1001 Broad St, Chattanooga, TN 37402
There is limited FREE parking, so if possible car pool. You may meet at R&M Yarns to carpool. If you decide to meet at the Store, please be there promptly at 7:30 a.m. (That will give us 1-1/2 hours to drive to the Library, set up and move our vehicles to the parking area before 9 a.m.)
Suggestions of what to bring:
1. A portable loom to demonstrate weaving (pre-warped)
2. Folding Chair
3. Lunch & beverages (it may be hot)
4. Handwovens to sell (please plan to donate 25% to the SVH guild treasury)
Why bring stuff to sell you may ask.........The Library is hosting a big "Arts and Crafts Fair" the same day as our "Weave In." So there will be lots of people to hopefully purchase your items!
SOOOOOO.....there will be lots to do, see and demonstrate. Let's have FUN!!!!!

R&M Yarns Fiber Education Festival Report
A great time was had at the R&M Yarns Fiber Education Festival on May 13th. All members pitched in and made the Festival fun, easy and enjoyable! Now we are all warn out! Let's rest!
