Due to the fact that most SVH members will be participating in one way or another in the May 6 & 7, 2023 Birchwood Fiber Festival, it was decided NOT to hold a meeting this month.
Our next meeting will be Saturday, June 17th.

March Guild Meeting
The March meeting will be held at the Birchwood Community Center (5623 TN-60, Birchwood, TN 37308) on Saturday the 18th at 10:00 am. It will be in the room next to the canopy driveway.
R&M Yarns will be open 9 to 9:30 a.m. for members who need a fiber fix first (lots of "natural fiber" skeins marked 1/2 off and a few acrylic skeins at a deep discount for quick sale).
Program: "Project Planning Worksheets." This is "guild participation" program; plan to share how you keep tract of your projects woven and how you go about completing a worksheet...if you do this step.
Please check your calendar to see if you are available and would like to volunteer at the Birchwood Fiber Festival coming up May 6 & 7, 2023. There will be a sign up sheet at the meeting. Volunteers are needed at the registration desk, some may need assistance finding their classrooms, teachers may need assistance to make sure those in the classes are registered (there will be a check list); vendors may need someone to watch their booth while they eat, etc.

January 2023 Meeting
The January meeting will be held at the Birchwood Community Center (5623 TN-60, Birchwood, TN 37308) on Saturday the 21st at 10:00 am. R&M Yarns will be open 9 to 9:30 am for members who need a fiber fix first (new "natural fiber" skeins have been sorted and are ready for purchase @ 1/2 off label price).
Program: Color Relativity: Beyond the Color Wheel (a DVD presentation by Laura Bryant).
The SVH Board will have met prior to this meeting and will have some more news on:
1. programs for the rest of the year
2. preliminary information on the 2023 Guild Challenge
The 2023 Sandhill Crane Festival is January 14 - 15 at the Birchwood Community Center. SVH have a booth there which will be manned by our members and will be demonstrating fiber skills and selling handmade items, but primarily promoting our own Festival (Birchwood Fiber Festival) in May. Come along and support or enjoy the activities at this annual event.

Emergency venue change for November meeting
The SVH regular venue is not able to supply heating so we will be meeting at R&M Yarns (8510 Highway 60, Georgetown) normal start at 10 or come a little early and shop.

October Meeting
The October meeting will be held at the Birchwood Community Center (5623 TN-60, Birchwood, TN 37308) on Saturday the 15th at 10.00am. Please Note: R&M Yarns will not be open prior to this meeting as Phyllis is away at a show.
It is 'Election Time' We need to fill a few positions so come prepared to nominate someone (or yourself) so we can vote in the 2023 Committee.
The program will be: An introduction to the Theo Moorman technique.
Bring your "Show and Share" items. There will likely be some examples from the recent workshop run by Sandi where she demonstrated a myriad of techniques for creating attractive bags from hand woven yardage.
Don't forget to read the draft September minutes to see if any changes need to be made before accepting them at this meeting.
