November meeting announcement

The November meeting will be held November 19th at R&M Yarns, 8510 Highway 60, Georgetown, TN 37336. (423) 961-0690.  Normal start time of 9:00 for social gathering then the meeting starts at 9:30.

The agenda will include various old business, new business including the election of Officers for 2017. Nominations have been received for all positions, but nominations are not closed until prior to the voting. There will be some discussion on activities for 2017.

The book review is "The Art and Craft of Natural Dyeing"

Show and share in two parts: 1 any guild challenge items, 2 anything else

The program will be an introduction to tapestry by Steve.

The rugs from Crossville will be at the meeting so make sure you pick yours up.

October Meeting Announcement and a request

Don't forget to bring along examples of 'repurposed' weaving or discuss progress towards the guild challenge (due at the November meeting).

The program was to have been on Tapestry by me, but I'm away at a wedding this meeting.  Their may be a program on double weave, but if not then the election of officers is the program.

Request from Jane: Can members bring (for donation) any empty yarn cones. I plan to take the cones to H'Art Gallery so the clients can decorate them to support the gallery.

Also, if anyone has yarn (or beads or any art supplies) that they do not intend to use, the gallery can! I had several skeins that just did not like me. So after two decades, I donated them!

September Meeting Announcement

Meeting and 'Rugs, rugs, rugs' Exhibit road trip.

The September meeting will start at the Crossville Library; 3 East Street, Crossville, TN at 9:30 AM (Central time) on the 17th of September for those heading straight there. Contact number is Wilma.

For anyone coming from south of Georgetown, TN and might be considering carpooling, meet at R&M yarns by 8:50 AM (Eastern time) for a 9:00 departure. Contact numbers: Phyllis or Steve.

The agenda will include various old business, new business including more on the Fiber Education Festival, planing for the road trip to Crossville next month (which will be the September meeting) and some HGA updates.

Don't forget to bring along all your appropriately named and ready to hang rugs for the Weavers of the Cumberland Rug Exhibit.

July Meeting

The Scenic Valley Handweavers met on Saturday the 16th at R&M Yarns.  Those that are entering items in the Weavers of the Cumberland "Rugs, rugs, rugs" exhibit handed in their entry forms and were reminded to bring the actual items next month. 

The program was all about loom maintenance, with handouts, and examples of the various products for attendees to view.

Minutes have been published and photo's added to the pictures page.
