September 19--"Helter-Skelter" Competition!

We may have been small in number, but that didn't keep us from having fun creating two "Helter-Skelter" woven pieces in a 45-minute time slot!  Below are the two finished pieces which have been judge by 3 independent judges.  Thanks, Carla, for planning this program and securing the judges.

Team #1:  Wally, Marie & Denita.
Team #2: Phyllis, Jane & Carla (Liana, guest, also contributed)

And the WINNER IS...... "A Walk Through the Forest."  Congrats to Team #1!

Don't forget to bring your "Show & Share" items to keep us all inspired!

June Guild Meeting

Our first meeting since February for the Scenic Valley Handweavers Guild is happening!  Most felt okay to meet with a few still not ready but will join us in a month or so.

The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. (9:30 for social & shopping time) on Saturday, June 20th at the R&M Yarns Fiber Art Studio (8510 Hwy. 60, Georgetown, TN).

In lieu of a scheduled program, we will all bring our projects we've finished during our isolation period and discuss "things we've learned by doing."

There is a Keurig coffee maker available with coffee and tea selections.  You may bring snacks to share if you like.

I'm looking forward to a great time of sharing!

PS:  I'm not sure we have space for the "6-feet apart suggestion" in the Studio, so please do whatever you need to do to feel safe....mask, etc.  I will sanitize surface areas in the Studio, bathroom & kitchen faucets, handles, etc.  There is plenty of hand sanitizer, soap and water available for your use as well.

January 18th Meeting--NEW MEETING TIME!

Happy New Year Everyone!

2020 is going to be a great year for our group!  We've cut the business portion of our meetings to the bare minimum so we have more time for our programs and show & share--the fun stuff!

Our first meeting of the year will be Saturday, January 18th beginning at 10 a.m. (new time decided by the 2020 board); shopping & socializing at 9:30 a.m.

After a short business meeting, Carrie will present the program....

Introduction to Ravelry--an online place for knitters, crocheters, designers, spinners, weavers and dyers to keep track of their yarn, tools, project and pattern information.

Remember to bring your "Show & Share" items and your 2019 Challenge Pillows for display.

IMPORTANT:  PLEASE PAY YOUR 2020 ANNUAL DUES BY OR BEFORE THIS MEETING.  If you know you will not be able to make this meeting, please place your dues in the mail ASAP.  Our Bylaws currently state that if annual dues are not paid by January, a member's name shall be dropped from the membership in SVH.
