Special Notice for SVH members

A special notice for Scenic Valley Handweavers Guild Only:  R&M Yarns just received several pounds of 8/2 cotton yarns in beautiful colors!  Come and get what you want before they go up on the website.  (They sell out in about an hour once they are posted.)  They are still being offered at the low price of $8 per pound; most cones are 1 to 1.5 pounds each.  Come this week Wednesday thru Friday, 10/24-10/26 from 10 to 5. There is also lots of 10/2 mercerized cotton colors and a few 8/2 Bamboo colors; these are both $10 lb. Take advantage of this special Guild perk while you can!

Convergence 2020 Information Meeting, call for Guild Members to Attend

Convergence 2020 will be held in Knoxville July 24-30, 2020 and SVH guild members have an opportunity to participate! There will be an informational meeting in Knoxville and Phyllis is planning to attend on Nov 8th. She would like other guild members to attend as well. If anyone else can attend on the 8th, please let Phyllis know. There are carpool opportunities. Here is the Doodle link to the meeting dates. This is a great opportunity for our guild to experience Convergence first hand. It is practically in our own backyard. For those of you not familiar with Convergence here is a description of the event:

"Convergence is a 7-day multi-faceted fiber art experience with exhibitions, shopping, fashion show, tours, workshops, seminars, lectures, and more. Presented biennially in a different city each year, the conference is a convergence of the world's leading fiber art instructors, weaving loom manufacturers, fiber art suppliers, award-winning works of fiber art, students and fiber art enthusiasts. SVH Guild Meeting Reminder and items for meeting

The SVH Guild Meeting is this Saturday, September 20, 2018, at R&M Yarns. Come and browse the shop and visit with your fellow Guild Members at 9:00AM, meeting starts at 9:30AM.

A reminder that the $20 yearly dues are payable by cash or check. The programs for this week will be Double Weave/Double Weaving. A loom will be set up so member can try these techniques.

At this meeting nominations for ALL officer positions will be accepted All positions are open.
