All those wishing to take part in the 2017 Guild Challenge, please bring 20 balls/skeins of yarn that are all identical (yarn & yardage) to share with others that will be participating. Up to 20 yards can be put into each bag. It would be helpful to include a label with the total yardage for each ball.
Chris will be bringing a warp yarn for those wishing to use his selections.
The challenge is to weave any type bag using most or all of the yarns you receive at the March Guild meeting plus adding your own yarns where and when needed. The Challenge is due at the October 2017 meeting.
Let's all join in this Challenge. It's going to be really fun to see the finished products!

HANDWOVEN LACE
“Handwoven lace is a way to add interesting texture to cloth. Lace weaves can be used in a wide variety of textiles, from delicate special-occasion items to everyday table mats and towels as well as for shows, scarves and other types of clothing.” (“Next steps in Weaving, What you never knew you needed to know” by Pattie Graver)
The program for March is “Loom-Controlled Lace Weaves” demonstrated by Phyllis. A loom will be warped and ready for members to treadle different lace patterns. We will try adding beads using the technique Carla taught us in January.
