2016 Fiber Education Festival
The SVH are pleased to announce the 2016 Festival. The picture is of the flyer which is going to print as we speak. This year will have a similar 'plan' as last year with visitors able to see most aspects of fiber work from live animals & shearing through fiber preparation (spinning, dyeing, felting, weaving) to finished product, with lots of hands on activities for kids and adults alike. There will be other fiber related demonstrations, vendors, and food available on site. Further announcements will be made along with calls for volunteers to help on the day.

SVH February Meeting
The February meeting will be held at R&M Yarns Studio, 8510 Highway 60, Georgetown, TN 37336, beginning at 9:00 a.m. for social and snacks, then 9:30 a.m. the meeting begins. If you need further help with the directions or have questions, call 423.744.7898.
A reminder: pay your membership dues to the Treasurer if you haven' already.

The program this month is: An Introduction to Rug Weaving. Steve will give an overview and some hints and tips for rug weavers, along with some multimedia material and a range of books/rugs to view. There may be a small amount of practical demonstration. Rug weaving questions will be answered (if possible). You are welcome to bring along and discuss your own handwoven rugs.
The March program by Jane is on Inkle Loom weaving. In preparation for this can anyone who has an inkle loom and plans to bring it contact Jane so that further instructions can be sent out. Also if you have any Inkle weaving books/DVDs/videos please bring them to the February meeting so Jane can add them to her bibliography.
